BROWN SPLATTER MULTI MUG

The brown splatter multi mug is very versatile and can be used for water, tea, coffee or snacks. Its simple cone shape matches the silhouette of the twisted pitcher, also from the Brown Splatter Ceramics collection and it has the same cream base color as the tableware from the Cream Edge Ceramics collection. It's easy to stack on shelfs or in kitchen drawers. Comes in sets of two.

Every mug is made by hand and therefore not two are completely alike. The production of ceramics is a very old and slow process. It takes three-six weeks for it to dry depending on the season. Once dried it’s burnt before and after being glazed and then the splatters are added before being burnt for the third and final time. All together the production time is about three months.

The splatter technique was traditionally a cheap way of decorating simple everyday objects. The splatter effect is achieved through a traditional method where a small bunch of reeds is used to splash the brown glazes onto the mug as it is turned by hand. The pattern and strength of colors therefore depends on the ceramic’s makers mood and will turn out differently. This is the charm of everything being made by hand.
